This week the Picket Twenty Community Association have taken on the lease of the new centre. The trustees will manage the hall, which will provide local groups a place to meet and activities for the wider Community.

The centre was built by Galamast and is a fantastic new centre with a large spring loaded dance floor in the main hall, with smaller meeting rooms at the side. The Trustees have been busy working to get this new centre up and running and are taking bookings for the centre now.

The trustees received a cheque for £500 from the Councillors of St Mary’s ward as a contribution for furniture and equipment. The grant awarded to the Community Centre is from Test Valley Borough Councillors Community Grant Scheme, which provides small grants to local groups and projects. Funding may be available for 50%  of the cost, with the group expected to find matched funding for the reminder. There is a maximum of £500  per project. Please get in contact with me for more information.

Various groups have already taken bookings at the centre:

Fl Dance group, Martial arts Ju-Jitsu, Yoga, Latin & ballroom
