The new two form entry school at Picket Twenty is almost ready to accept its first pupils. I was invited to take a tour around the school recently by the Head Teacher Miss Amanda Johnston with Cllr Tim Rolt.
The school is called Pilgrims’ Cross and has been built to a very high standard by Kier construction. There are excellent facilities inside for the forty children who start in September.
This is a church aided primary school, which is affiliated to Andover St Mary’s and the Diocese of Winchester. The aim is to give children the knowledge and skills to set them up for life, making learning a happy experience.
This brand new school is a school to be proud off, with Miss Johnston and her team working really hard to get this ready to open tomorrow. All the classrooms are named after trees, Hazel, Maple, Sycamore and Chestnut. I look forward to seeing more of this new school as it grows with our Town.
